Porter's Crabapples!
Crabapples are amazing apple trees. Last fall, Porter’s Lake just lost the two that had flanked the property’s entrance for a generation. I happened to forage what was the last ever of their fruit prior to the removal of the trees with the intention of germinating seedlings, nursing some young trees and returning them back to the club for planting.
I remember climbing to the top of those trees and watching deer below when they were mature and heavily fruited when I was a kid, 40 years ago.
This is a progress update of the seedlings. They suffered heavily from powdery mildew but responded well to some help. So far so good! My story about apple trees is deep. Feel free to ask!

Zara hooked this off the dock and passed it to Ari when it almost pulled her in. Dad and Ari landed it. No scale or tape to measure. Released promptly. Beautiful weekend.

Concept plans for the renovations to the PLH&FC Clubhouse
This is only a first draft and no final decision has been made at this time on a final design or timing for the project. Many more meetings will be held with the members to come to a final decision on what changes may be made.
